£35m BID – Liverpool On The Verge Of Signing Emre Can’s £80k-per-week Replacement

Reports from TMW is claiming Liverpool are one step ahead to completing deal with Manchester United for the signing of Belgium international Marouane Fellaini this summer. Fallaini is said to be out of contract come end of the season and could make a surprise switch to the Merseyside as a result uncertainties surrounding Emre Can’s future.

Fellaini joined the Red Devils from Everton in 2013 and has since registered more than 150 appearances across all competition for the club. The ex-Everton player has struggled for playing time this season, however, registering just six starts in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup all combined.

In addition to Liverpool interest in Fellaini, it’s reported that Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and AS Roma are also touted to be interested in securing his signature. Jurgen Klopp’s side might need to move fast in their purported bid to sign the £80k-per-week transfer target.

The German international has made 166 appearances for the Reds since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 and has been a regular in the midfield this season. Can has made 37 appearances in all competitions, contributing 11 goals, and will need a like-for-like replacement if he does move to Italy.

Fellaini who has a combined 61 career goals certainly has the physical attributes to emulate Can, although he’s not as cultured in possession. It’s been 54 years since the last time did business with one another, but this rumour doesn’t appear to be going away.
