According to reports, Real Madrid ace Marco Asensio has told his club that he has an offer on the table from Liverpool and that he’ll be looking to leave Santiago Bernabeu in the summer if he does not get more playing time.
Asensio has started just 11 La Liga games this year for Real and even though he has six goals and four assists to his name, Real’s boss Zinedine Zidane has been reluctant to give him more first-team chances.
According to the Daily Star, the 22-year-old youngster has spoken to Madrid’s president Florentino Perez and has told the Spaniard that he’s willing to quite the club if he doesn’t get more playing time.
Liverpool are said to be strongly keen on signing the attacking midfielder – who according to Transfermkt is rated at €50 million – as are a whole host of clubs across Europe, and they’ll be keeping an eye on how his situation develops.
With the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea Juventus and Manchester United also looking to sign him, a bidding war could be on the cards if Madrid do allow him to leave the club in the summer. But until then, we’ll have to wait and see.
