Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has delivered his latest update regarding what he knows regarding Arsenal’s potential move for Manchester United Marouane Fellaini this summer.
The North London club have once again been linked with a move for different players during the summer transfer window, following the appointment of Unai Emery as the new manager in place of retired Arsene Wenger two weeks ago.
Emery, however, has already secured the signing of former Juventus Stephan Lichsteiner and the former Paris Saint-Germain boss seems to be keen on signing an experienced midfielder as well while there are reports the Gunners are “very close” to the signing of Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos in a £16m deal.
Thus, the Man United midfielder linked with Arsenal, who is earning closer to £80,000-a-week, has been picked out as one of the players whom the Gunners are chasing.
But according to the Sky Sports reporter, Arsenal could back out in the signing of the former Everton midfielder due to his high wage demands.
Solhekol said via The Sport Review:
“The problem Fellaini will have with Arsenal is a lot of the fans aren’t happy with the news that they are trying to sign him.”
“The other issue is his wages. The wages he wants are £120,000 a week which is [considered] too much.”
