In a bid to strenghten up their team for next season, Manchester United have been reported to have contacted Paris Saint-Germain striker Edison Cavani’s agent, considering a transfer, according to reports.
The Red Devils might just be needing to bring in a new striker to the team this coming summer, following links of Marcus Rashford to La Liga giants Barcelona and Romelu Lukaku acknowledging the fact that he will like to play in the Serie A someday.
According to French outlet L’Equipe which claims that United have added Cavani to the list of possible players to sign for a strong team. The Uruguayan striker contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of next season and despite being happy to remain at the Parc De Princes a contract extension is yet to be talked about.
The 32-year-old striker has not been in the starting lineup nor the bench for the French club since February, which could spell out an inevitable exit in the summer.
Reports claims that Manchester United have kept contacts with Cavani’s agent for the past two years now with several talks of signing going on.
The Red Devils are not the only European giants reported to be interested in signing the player as Atletico Madrid have joined the race.
The Uruguay international with 17 games played in the Ligue 1 this season has found the back of the 17 times.
