Reports coming from Italian news blogs are claiming Juventus central defender Daniele Rugani has agreed terms to join Chelsea this summer.
The report is according to Italian news outlet Corriere Dello Sport, via The Metro, that claims the defender has agreed a deal to be part of Chelsea’s plans for the upcoming season.
Although, the report claims that the Serie A club Juventus and Chelsea are still negotiating what fee will be agreed for the defender, but personal terms over his transfer to Chelsea have been agreed this summer.
The reports adds that the Blues have submitted an improved offer of £35m for Rugani, although it remains unclear whether or not Juventus has deem the price acceptable for the transfer of the defender this summer.
The defender looks set to become Chelsea’s first of the summer transfer window, despite the managerial take over still under serious doubt.
Regarding Chelsea’s managerial replacement, Maurizio Sarri has been touted to take over from Antonio Conte next week, with the former Napoli boss knew Rugani’s abilities very well having both worked together in the Serie A.
Rugani has registered seven appearances for Italy in all outings and the defender is seen as one of the most promising youngster in defence in the country.
However, registering a regular playing time at Juventus has been hard to come by with the Old Lady already boasting of experienced talents in Giorgio Chiellini and Medhi.
