According to one of Football Hitz sources, there are reports that Tottenham Hotspur are considering a £35m bid for West Ham United youngster Declan Rice, who has also been linked with an interest from Liverpool.
Rice has impressed for the Hammers so far this season, having registered 26 appearances for Manuel Pellegrini’s side as he established himself as a key-man in the South-American boss line-up.
However, West Ham fans could be hit a huge blow as Rice is being tipped to be the subject of a big-money move from Tottenham this season, with report from The Express claiming the North London club could sanction a £35m bid for him.
It’s also noted in that report that the Republic of Ireland under-21 international has been on Liverpool’s radar, while Spurs have leapfrogged the Merseysiders in the race to sign him amid uncertainty surrounding Christian’s Eriksen’s future at the club.
Should Eriksen leaves Tottenham, his exit would leave a major void to fill for Spurs in midfield, but while there are many different players in terms of skills and the Danish’s characteristics, the report from the Daily Express suggest Rice would be a top target.
Rice move to Tottenham is surely one that yield a good fruit but remains to be seen whether or not they can hijack him away from a London rival – particularly West Ham United – while time will tell if Liverpool revive interest in signing him.
Given Mauricio Pochettino’s successful track record of working with young players at Tottenham and developing them in the world class, as with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, this could be a major factor that will see him join Spurs.
