Chelsea have reportedly launched a £35million bid for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani and offered him a five-year contract.
The report is according to the Evening Standard the claims the Blues’ contract offer would also see the Italy international double his current wages to around £60,000 a week with the Premier League club.
Rugani has strongly been linked with a move to Chelsea for some time now and the British tabloid latest update reveals Chelsea are hoping to make him their first signing under incoming boss Maurizio Sarri.
Having led Napoli to second position in Serie A, Sarri could do well in bringing in a top young player from the Serie A like Rugani to rebuild Chelsea’s struggling defence.
Chelsea finished fifth in the Premier League last season under Antonio Conte and they would be considering some number of changes in their squad this summer.
The defence makes sense as an area they need to improve, with Rugani a promising young talent and could serve as a long-term replacement for Gary Cahill and David Luiz.
Rugani has find a regular starting role with Juve had to come by, but looks to have the talent to play more regularly for a top club like Chelsea, so could find it tempting to make the move to somewhere like Chelsea to help launch his career.
