Manchester United have reportedly been offered an opportunity to sign Germany international Jérôme Boateng, according to reports from Manchester Evening News.
The Premier League side, who finished as runners-up in the league last campaign, have been linked with signing the Bayern Munich centre-back this summer.
Boateng, who is a regular figure for the Germany national team, has amassed 72 international appearances for the Die Mannschaft, netted two goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances across all competition last season for the Bundesliga champions last season.
He arrived at the Allianz Arena back in the summer of 2011 following his reported €13.5m move from Manchester City. Boateng has eight goals in 258 overall appearances for Bayern.
However, if reports bears fruit, Boateng could be on his way back to Manchester, as the report suggests the club have offered him to United this summer transfer window.
It is believed that Jose Mourinho has the player on his eight-man shortlist of centre-backs ahead of the upcoming 2018/19 seasons, and Bayern would be happy to sell their player if they can bot meet at £43m.
Juventus are also believed to be in the race to sign Boateng this summer. The defender is an experienced centre-back who have won all there is to win in football in the form World Cup, Champions League title, FA Cup, and as well as different title with the Bundesliga club.
Boateng played the full 90 minutes during his nations’ opening 1-0 defeat to Mexico at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia on Sunday.
The Red Devils have completed four deals already so far this summer transfer window, signing full-back Diogo Dalot from Porto and midfielder Fred Shakhtar Donetsk, whilst they sold Joe Riley to Bradford City and shipped out goalkeeper Dean Henderson on loan to Sheffield United.
