Manchester United, according to reports, are keen on signing Olympique Lyonnais’ star Nabil Fekir this summer and have table an offer for the Liverpool target.
Fekir was very close to joining Liverpool this summer in a £60 million, however, the Frenchman’s proposed move to Anfield broke down with reports suggesting the Premier League club detected a problem in his knee during his medicals at the club.
Following this incident, the club’s president Jean-Michael Aulas confirmed Fekir would not be leaving the club this summer and would remain until end of next season at least.
However, reports now coming from French newspaper Le Progres claim the Ligue 1 club are still considering selling some of their prized asset including the former Liverpool target, and that Man United could be the next Premier League club looking to complete a move for the 24-year-old.
The report from the French newspaper says.
“For Nabil, offers are not lacking. The latest comes from Manchester United,” the report from the French newspaper says.”
Lyon president, however, confirmed United’s interest in the player this summer saying he had met with Jose Mourinho and held talks over a move for Fekir this summer.
“I was with Jose Mourinho the other day. We had long discussions.
“Personally, I am no longer in discussions with Liverpool. At the moment, we are waiting for France and Nabil to have a fantastic World Cup.”
Fekir joined the Ligue 1 side in 2011 as a youngster, and has since registered 153 appearances for Les Gones in all competitions, netting 57 goals. 23 of his total goals for the French club were scored last season.
