According to reports, Chelsea have offered midfielder N’Golo Kante a mouth-watering £290,000-a-week contract to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Kante, who stands at 1.68m (5ft6″), was part of France World Cup winning team, has been severally tipped one of the best central midfielders in world football. Since joining from Leicester City in 2016, the Frenchman has registered himself as an integral part of Chelsea’s starting eleven with his passing ability and powerful runs.
However, his exploits both for club and season this campaign has seen many European eyeing move for him, but Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain were the latest club battling Chelsea for their midfielder.
However, The Times has claimed Chelsea have offered Kante, a massive £15 million a year contract to stay at the club, and make him the highest paid at Stamford Bridge and this would double his current wages at the club to around £220,000-a-week contract Eden Hazard is currently receiving.
Hazard, on the other hand, has attracted strong interest from Real Madrid and the midfielder has expressed desire to join the 13th-time Champions League holders, but the Blues are willing tie him down with a bumper contract just like with Kante.
Chelsea do not want to lose any of their best players this summer, especially with the window getting shut in just ten days from now with the future of both Willian and Thibaut Courtois also up in the air.
