Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the signing of Italy international and Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to London Evening Standard.
The west London club completed the signing of Jorginho from Napoli at the weekend and are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as they look to try and build a squad capable of at least breaking back into the top four next season.
Rugani, who has began his youth career with Empoli under Sarri, has scored five goals in 67 first-team appearances for Juventus, winning three league titles, three Coppa Italia’s and the Supercoppa Italiana with the Serie A champions.
The centre-back registered seven appearances for Italy last season and at Juve, he scored two goals and providing two assist in 26 appearances in all competitions for Max Allegri’s side last season.
However, new report is claiming the defender will become the Blues’ second signing of the summer having agreed £44.2m fee with the club, with the player putting pen to paper on a five-year contract worth £77,000-a-week.
