With Manchester United in need of a naturally gifted right-winger and arch-rivals Manchester City also lacking options beyond Raheem Sterling, recent reports emanating from Italy have linked with two Manchester club for the signature of Federico Chiesa whilst reports are also linking Liverpool with the winger.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport via Football News, it’s claimed that Fiorentina had set their asking price at £44 million back April, but have added a further £18 million to that price amid growing interest in the 20-year-old player.
The pacey winger registered his first full senior season with Fiorentina in 2016 after he was promoted from the U19 squad and he impressed throughout the season.
Chiesa rise to fame has been his series of dazzling performance during the most recent 2017/18 season. He is capable of playing on both wins and in a number ten role, but he predominantly operated on the right-wing last season and contributed 15 goals in all-competitions with 6 goals and 9 assists.
Manchester United on the other hand, are in desperate need of a gifted right-winger this summer, but remains to be seen if they’ll win the race to Chiesa signing ahead of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Liverpool also, will be eager to add depth to their attacking options this summer in order to ensure they have alternatives of genuine talents to replace Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane who have both been linked with Real Madrid, but Fiorentina aking price standing at £62 million shows a huge risk not worth taking they still have the likes of Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn still knocking on the Anfield’s door for first-team opportunities.
