Not too long, Football News cited a reported from Italian publication TMW that claimed Celtic were keen on signing Hull City’s Abel Hernandez in the summer window.
The Hull’s star is reportedly out of contract at the end of the current campaign and he has not shown any signs that he wants to remain with the Championship club beyond this season.
Undeniably, Hernandez seem ready to ply his trade somewhere else and it looks as though Celtic have been given a boost in their race for his signature.
Furthermore, report from Hull Daily Mail claimed it looked increasingly unlikely that the club are not going to be able to keep the Transfermkt’s €7m-rated forward with their doubts over their ability to match financial packages from other clubs.
The Hoops would surely be able to offer wages that the Tigers would offer the Uruguayan forward and this news would certainly be music to Bhoys’ faithful.
The Pando-born is a good forward and has an eye for goal having seen the net eight times whilst creating one assist for Hull and playing in team with like-minded players, there are assurance he can beat that mark.
He clearly wants to try something new with the Tigers looking set to remain in the second tier and this summer seems the right time.
Celtic would surely benefit from getting him – though it makes one wonder who they might lose in getting the Abel Hernandez.
