After Fred, Mourinho set to hijack move for £25m-rated – “not Savic”

It appears Manchester United have found an alternative for over-priced Lazio Midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer.

After backing out from the Serbian huge asking price, Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to another Serie A midfielder in person of Lorenzo Pellegrini who had earlier been on Chelsea’s radar this summer for £25m.

The midfielder joined Roma last summer, but after showing glimpses of impressive performances, it seems as though this has caught the attention of many top European sides.

After completing the transfer of Brazilian star Fred, the midfield is clearly where Mourinho is desperately looking to make strong for the upcoming season.

Although, scouts have been sent to watch Milinkovic-Savic in action but with Roma willing to accept below his hefty £88million price-tag, this has forced United to consider another option in Pellegrini.

Pellegrini would appear a more cheaper alternative for the Red Devils than breaking the bank for Savic who’s still got lot to learn as a footballer playing with a top team.

With Marouane Fellaini yet to agree a new contract deal, the Roma’s midfielder would certainly get his opportunities if he does join Man United this summer, and it would be incredible signing for the club.
