With Unai Emery appointed Arsenal new manager, we have seen a new dimension in the way the club’s handle transfer business every summer under the Spaniard. The latest transfer from Arsenal is Jack Wilshere who will be facing the exit door at the Emirates by end of this month as he failed to agree a new contract extension with the club.
Now, if reports making rounds are anything to go by, the Gunners out-of-favour striker Lucas Perez is said to be considering joining Serie A side Lazio this summer.
Perez, who is just 10 goals to his 100 goals in total 275 career appearances, was send back on a season long loan to his former side Deportivo La Coruna last summer but the Spaniard struggled to make any impact. Despite registering 34 La Liga appearances, he was only able to score seven goals.
With Arsenal having the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette at the club, Perez chances in the team would be hard to come by next season.
On his current deal with the Gunners, Perez has two years left to run. But his agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle revealed that with Perez that the striker will be considering leaving Arsenal this summer.
Lovelle told Lalaziosiamonoi.it that:
“As for Lucas, he likes the idea of Lazio, but it’s still too early to talk about it. At Lazio, there is his great friend, Luis Alberto. He still has two years on his contract with Arsenal, so we need to talk to them first.”
He further revealed that the player’s likeness for Lazio could be mutual as the club enquired about his availability last summer.
“Lazio asked for him last year, but then nothing came of it. Lucas has always liked both Lazio and the city of Rome.”
There’s no denying that Lucas Perez will be deemed surplus to requirement next season under Unai Emery. A season-long loan for the striker could help his situation however, but it appears he’s considering leave Arsenal totally.
