As the Metro reports, Chelsea and Arsenal target Jean-Michael Seri has not joined Nice’s pre-season training camp and instead, it’s believed the Ivory Coast international is in London to seal a move to the Premier League.
Seri, who has been dubbed as the new “Yaya Toure” has been linked with many top European side, with Barcelona linked with a move for him last summer. The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and West Ham United have all be credited with interest in the midfielder. His current deal with the Ligue 1 giants that expires by July 15, is said to have a £35million release clause inserted.
Arsenal and Chelsea where the Premier League believed to be strongly keen on his signing this summer, but appears the Gunners have moved on and will complete a deal for Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira once he has undergone a medical at London Colney on Monday.
The likes of West Ham, Fulham and Tottenham who have been credited with interest in the midfielder looks to given up on his pursuit as the player is believed to be eyeing a move to Chelsea this summer. Although, the Blues are still in a state of confusion with future of their head-coach Antonio Conte still up in air and there have been no official update regarding move for Maurizio Sarri as the Italian replacement.
Chelsea are yet to make a signing so far in the window despite the upcoming season just about a month away. Although, with all interest clubs in Seri given up the ghost, the Ivorian could be heading to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea first signing of the summer.
