According to emerging reports, Premier League giants Chelsea F.C. will today make an audacious £70m to sign Real Madrid playmaker Isco.
As reported by The Sun, the British tabloid claims the Blues are lining up a four-and-a-half year deal, worth around £250,000-a-week, for the out-of-favour midfielder when the transfer window reopens.
This has seen Chelsea moving ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City in the pack, with Pep Guardiola’s side waiting until next summer before making a move for the Spaniard.
However, with Isco’s growing out of favour at Santiago Bernabeu, a deal is set to be completed in January with Chelsea.
So far this season, the four-time Champions League winner has registered just 11 league appearances and was even booed by the home crowd in Real’s last week Champions League defeat against CSKA Moscow.
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, is said to have handed over negotiations to Sporting Director Marina Granovskaia, wants to pair Isco with Eden Hazard.
The Belgian, who has himself admitted it would be a dream to play for Real, has been used in the ‘false 9’ position in recent weeks and Sarri sees Isco as the perfect foil for the Belgian.
There is an expectancy that negotiations will move quickly and Isco could join Chelsea as early as the first week of the New Year.
