Chelsea are ready to battle Chelsea for the transfer of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani this coming window.
Rugani has long been linked with a move to Chelsea after impressive highly in the Series A with Juventus and with Empoli in the past seasons.
The defender first ply his trade at Empoli with Maurizio Sarri in-charge of the club who is now the current head-coach at Chelsea, and that may be part of the reason the Blues can hijack Arsenal’s move to the signing of the centre-back.
It’s added that the defender is already learning English in preparation for a move to the Premier League, so that’s possibly encouraging for both sides.
The defender could be a fine signing for either Chelsea or Arsenal, thought it’s arguably the Blues who need the player more than the Gunners.
Arsenal have in their rank, an unconvincing defense, with Mustafi far from the best in the world and not much in the way of depth behind the likes of Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Rob Holding. However, the Gunners always look a little too easily opened up at times this season and the signing of Rugani can help tighten up their defences.
