According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Arsenal are expected to announce the arrival of another new defender within the next week or so.
The west London club have been fairly busy in the transfer market so far, with the likes of of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno already secured this month.
The Gunners new head-coach Unai Emery is expected to bring in more new signigns to a defensive unit which conceded the most goals out of all the Premier League top six sides in the Premier League last season.
If reports according to the Sky Sports reporter bears fruit, Arsenal has completed the deal to sign to Borussia Dortmund’s Sokratis Papastathopoulous this summer.
And it’s claimed the Gunners are on the course to announce make the €20 million (£17.5m) official by next month having agreed to all terms with the Bundesliga club over the signing of the Greek international this summer.
The Sky Sports reporter said as quoted below:
“Stephan Lichtsteiner is in, Bernd Leno is in and Sokratis Papastathopoulos will sign on July 1.
“The reason July 1 is because Borussia Dortmund want to announce that at the start of the new tax quarter in Germany.”
