According to report coming from Italy, Chelsea have been handed a huge boost with Germany international Antonio Rudiger set to sign a new contract with the London club.
The highly-rated centre-back has been in brilliant form this season and he’s arguably been the Blues most in-form and best defender so far under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
It’s believed Chelsea new boss is looking to tie some of his players down to a new contract and having already achieved this height with Marcos Alonso, Rudiger appears to be the next in line.
As reported by Calcio Mercato, the Italian tabloid claimed Rudiger is likely to accept this offer within the next couple of weeks.
The defender, who’s earning £90,000 per week, managed to get his name on the scoresheet for Chelsea against arch-rivals Manchester United in the 2-2 draw earlier in the month and was an integral part of their defense that kept a clean sheet over Burnley at Turf Moor at the weekend.
The player found it hard to settle in at Chelsea under Antonio Conte but since the appointment of Sarri, Rudiger has been playing with strong confidence and happiness.
