As reported by the Daily Mirror, Ligue 1 giants Marseille are reportedly eyeing move for Arsenal’s and Egypt international midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
Marseille, who defeated Toulouse 4-0 in their opening league game of the new season last Friday, have been linked with a late interest for the out of favour Arsenal midfielder.
Elneny, who has 66 international appearances for Egypt, was left on the bench as Arsenal were cruised to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of defending champions Manchester City on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.
Elneny last season, netted just one goals but created four assist across 32 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger.
Despite just recently signing a new four-year deal at Arsenal, the midfielder has been linked with a transfer away from the Gunners before August 31, with Marseille strongly keen on signing him.
Arsenal new head-coach Unai Emery brought in new midfielders in Lucas Torreira and Mateo Guendouzi this summer, which could see the Egyptian fall down the pecking order for the remainder of the season.
Elneny joined Arsenal from FC Basel in a reported £7.4m in January 2016, and has scored two goals in 72 appearances so far for Arsenal and he’s currently valued at £9m as per Transfermkt.
