According to reports, Arsenal and Chelsea are locked in talks to sign Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante this summer.
The report is according to Sky Sports that claim the player’s representatives are in talks with both Arsenal and Chelsea about bringing the player to London ahead of the upcoming season.
The 23-year-old spent the whole of last season on-loan with the Serie A side, where he impressed with his superb performances from midfielder that saw him nette 12 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A side.
However, there are bound to be stiff competition from the Serie A club itself as they possess the option to buy the midfielder permanently this summer from his parent club Benfica, although should they lose interest in the player, Arsenal and Chelsea will be first in line to secure the signature of the former AC Milan youngster.
His parent club are considering selling their star player this summer as they look to cash in on him before his contract with the club runs out next summer.
The midfielder earned call-up for Italy national team for the first time late last year for World Cup qualifiers against both Macedonia and Albania, however he will not be appearing at this summer’s tournament after Italy failed to qualify for the tournament.
