Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger has been handed some much-needed boost ahead of the North London most important week of the season.
The Gunners are drawn with Atletico Madrid next week in the semi-final of the Europa League, with each leg coming after their trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Premier League.
With a top four finish now out of the matter for Arsenal, the Gunners will need to win the Europa League in order to secure a place in the upcoming next season’s Champions League.
Arsenal fans were not pleased to see their team drawn with the La Liga giants but might be pleased with new updated from the Evening Standard reporting that Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and David Ospina are all expected to be fit for the upcoming fixtures against the Rojiblancos as well as Manchester United.
While this is not yet confirmed for the derby with West Ham United at the Emirates, the three players have returned to training and are in line to face Atletico in just over a week.
It’s not still clear whether Wenger would start Ospina ahead of Petr Cech against Atletico but his retur will give fans something high to hope for as they look to claim their first European trophy under the Frenchman.
Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan could also be involved for the semifinals or against his former club despite fears that his recent knee injury would cause him to miss the rest of the season.
Laurent Koscielny, meanwhile, is expected to be rested on Sunday for the visit of the Hammers as the Frenchman continues to deal with a chronic Achilles problem which has limited his game time.
