According to the Daily Express via Italian news media Calcio Mercato, they are reporting Arsenal have opened talks with Mexico international Hirving Lozano’s agent about a possible move to the Emirates this summer after being identified as the winger to help raise their ambition for the upcoming season.
Arsenal new head-coach Unai Emery has been busy so far in the window improving the defensive aspect of his new side with the signings of goalkeeper Bernd Leno, right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner and centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos while Lucas Torreira is believed to arrive Arsenal as his fourth signing of the summer.
That being said, the Spanish tactician is also considering move for a new winger. Arsenal lack of good option at the wing last season was a major blow for last campaign.
CalcioMercato are citing report from Daily Express that says Emery is eyeing move for the Mexican international who had been on Chelsea and Manchester City’s radar this summer according to talkSPORT and that Arsenal have now opened talks with the winger’s agents about a move to the cub and is expected to be in London this coming week for final discussion about Lozano joining the Premier League club.
The winger played a starring role for Mexico at the World Cup finals to help past the group stages before their defeat to Brazil in the last-16 knockouts and his displays have seemingly caught the eye of Arsenal.
Lozano joined his current club PSV Eindhoven from Pachuca for £7m last summer and has been an impressive option for the Dutch club netting 19 goals and 11 assists in 34 outings across all competition to help the team win the Eredivisie title.
However, hijacking Lozano from PSV’s rank would not come cheap as he’s contracted with the club until 2023 and if report from Calcio Mercato is anything to go by, the club’s £22m asking price would be met if he’s to leave this summer.
