Celtic fans has taken to Twitter to slam Belgium’s Dedryck Boyata for his poor performance in the Hoops 3-0 win against Ross County at Celtic Park on Saturday.
The 27-years-old has struggled to find his form as of late and it appears that he failed to improve against the relegation threatened side before was substituted off at half-time and replaced by Jack Hendry.
Many fans were left shocked with Brendan Rodgers’ decision to star the ex-Manchester City centre-back, especially as he was axed from the team despite impressing before the international break.
Fans could not hide their frustration with his performance on social media, with one among them claiming that the defender is “terrible.”
Boyata has been ever-present for the Hoops this season having got past the worst of his injury woes that plagued last season and the summer.
Boyata has registered 30 appearances across all competitions for Celtic this season, netting two goals and creating two assists along the line.
Although, the Belgian has been a regular started in Rodgers’ first-team fold, his performances have led to fierce criticism, especially his performances in the Champions League when he was completely exposed the Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain strong attack.
Boyata’s surely one that needs an upgrade and Celtic must invest in defence over the summer, especially as the club £1million January signing from Leizig Marvin Compper has still not getting used to live at Scotland.
Here is a selection of how fans reacted on Twitter:
Good first half. Looking good down the left. Armstrong excellent. Sinclair, McGregor and Rogic playing well in the middle. Boyata and Lustig playing like Boyata and Lustig. Broony magic.

If Boyata isn’t signing a new contract why are we still putting up with him? Not that I want him to get a new contract, leaving for free is a good deal.
