Arsenal will be left dejected in the market after reportedly failing in their last attempt to hijack a deal from their Premier League rivals.
According to Sky Sports, the tabloid states the North London club were unsuccessful with a move to sign Fabinho from the hands of Liverpool, who agreed a a £43m deal to sign the Brazil international at the weekend.
Arsenal new boss Unai Emery reportedly tried to sign the midfielder from Monaco last summer, while he was still in-charge of PSG, and was keen on signing him for Arsenal.
However, the move from Arsenal for the player came too late as Fabinho, who was also linked with Manchester United over the past year, had already agreed to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
That’s not the end of it for the Gunners anyway as they’re believe to still remain active in the transfer market hoping they can make significant improvements to their squad and the midfield is likely to be an area of focus, with Santi Cazorla on the way out and a danger that Jack Wilshere could follow on a free transfer.
