According to emerging report, Napoli lawyer Mattia Grassani has denied the Serie A club’s reaching an agreement with Premier League giants Chelsea FC for the signing of Maurizio Sarri this summer.
“Napoli doesn’t need to tell Sarri that he has been sacked.
“The club has hired a new manager [Ancelotti] and Sarri is no more in charge of the team. He is contracted with Napoli until 2020 and he has a release clause that is valid until the 31st of May of each season.”
“The release clause is over now and any club that wants to sign him must reach an agreement with Napoli. De Laurentiis can ask up to €150 million to release Sarri.”
There have been several reports in England claiming Napoli have reached agreement with the Blues for the services of Sarri that will see him taking over the reins of the club from Antonio Conte this summer but all this reports from UK have been denied by the Serie A club’s lawyer to be false.
Although, we can expect new developments in the coming days with the future of Sarri still up in the air.
Antonio Conte led Chelsea a successful Premier League title winning season and also won the FA Cup against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in his second in-charge of the club.
Despite winning the FA Cup title in his second season in-charge of the club, that wasn’t enough to bring back Champions League football to the club as Chelsea performance in the Premier League last season and in order competition was below-par.
With Chelsea ending their previous season fifth on the Premier League ranking, they will be participating in the Europa League next season would be hopeful winning the Europa League and making the top four next season.
