According to reports from Deportes ABC, Scottish champions Celtic FA have been linked with the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer.
The report claims that the Ukraine international, who can play anywhere on the left-flank or in central midfield, is also a target for Real Betis and could even be sold to Girona to join former Celtic star Patrick Roberts.
The £20,000-a-week central-midfielder is yet to make any appearances for the reigning Premier League champions this season and it appears as though he could force a move out before the end of the month.
Zinchenko would be a class signing for Celtic if they are to pursue his signature at all this summer. The Citizens would have already seen how Patrick Roberts performed in Glasgow, so it’s not like sending out their player to Celtic and wouldn’t have a huge impact.
Zinchenko can be deployed anywhere in the attack so he would have been a good player to help Brendan Rodgers rotate his squad.
It seems as though Real Betis are winning the race to sign the midfielder and this means that joining Celtic is not likely to happen now or when the transfer window finally get shuts next week.
Before Celtic signed Izaguirre, the Manchester City ace would have made a lot of sense for the Europa League hopefuls but now, they don’t seem to need him any more.
