Arsenal could be faced with a defensive problems over the festive period following another injury blow, according to reports from The Sun.
This new injury blow is on Nacho Monreal who was taken off during the Gunners’ 3-1 win over Burnley on Saturday lunchtime to worsen an already concerning lack of senior defensive players for the team.
Monreal will join likes of Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Shkodran Mustafi on the sidelines, while Laurent Koscielny is still making a tentative return to action following a lengthy injury absence.
It is believed that Monreal, who stands at 5ft10″, suffered a muscle strain and will be doubtful for the Boxing Day fixture to Brighton & Hove Albion and the crunch fixture against Liverpool at the Emirates three days later.
Despite being in line to miss these two fixtures, it has not yet be confirmed as to how long more Monreal will be out of action.
Arsenal, despite being impress so far this season still have their defensive performance woeful and they will know that the best thing they can do to combat this poor performances is to establish consistency.
