Arsenal’s links to Togolese defender Djene in the previous summer has increased the player’s release clause in his contract and will be costing the Gunners €40 million.
Which is according to reports coming from Spain media amongst links from Spanish giant Atletico Madrid to the Getafe defender last summer.
The Gunners were reported to have tried to sign the defender last summer, but their link ties toward to Togolese man is yet to be dead as AS is currently reporting that the club head coach Unai Emery has only just watched the defender play in a live match.
The reports further claimed that the North London outfit tried to sign him for a fee in the region of €25m-€30m which was said to not have met with the demands of the La Liga club.
Djene, who plays mainly in the heart of defence, can be deployed on the right flank of the defence or as a defensive midfielder and has a contract that runs with Getafe till 2023.
