Jean-Michael Seri, a reported £35million Chelsea and Arsenal target, is reportedly in talks with Napoli over a summer transfer move with the Serie A club. It’s reported according to Seri’s agent that his client is keen on joining Napoli as he’s tempted by the prospect of working with with experienced manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a brilliant season for Nice last season and his performance have caught the eye of many top European clubs.
The trio of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have all registered interest in the Ivory Coast international during the summer transfer window. However, if reports are anything to go by, it appears Napoli are leading the race to sign Seri this summer, with his agent confirming contacts has already been made by the Italians.
Seri’s agent, Franklin Mala, told Radio Kiss Kiss as quoted by The Metro:
“We are in talks with Napoli and he’s tempted by the idea of wearing the jersey,
“He would really like to play for Napoli and Carlo Ancelotti could get the best out of his characteristics.”
Napoli, under the tutelage of departed boss Maurizio Sarri – who has been touted to replace Antonio Conte this summer – finished second in the Serie A ranking last season, behind Serie A champions Juventus. However, Sarri’s days was brought to an as he failed to secure the title for the Napples and was replaced by former Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Chelsea, however, are still believed to be keeping tabs on Seri as Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge still remains uncertain as they are set to sell Danny Drinkwater, who only joined the club last summer in a £35m fee.
The Premier League winner with Leicester City star has been unable to make an impact under Conte but could be offered first-team league football with West Ham United who are keen on signing him this summer.
