Arsenal manager Unai Emery could be set to have a reunion with his former player Christopher Nkunku, as the Gunners continues transfer talks with Paris Saint-Germain.
According to reports, Emery demands that Arsenal must sign the player to strengthen his team ahead of 2019/20 campaign. With Welshman Aaron Ramsey all set to leave for Juventus at the end of the season, Emery has identified Nkunku as his best replacement.
Nkunku, who plays mainly as a central midfielder, can also be deployed on the right flank of the midfield, but the Gunners manager believes that the player best performance comes when he plays in the center.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been reported to showing a desire to move out of Parc De Princes with his current contract tying him down till the summer of 2020 aftrr refusing a contract extension.
PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel has been given the midfielder in his first team every now and then, which is not consistent enough for the youngster.
While Nkunku’s agent Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan breaking the news to media saying: “The playing time is insufficient. Christopher is open to a departure.”
Since the start of the season, Christopher Nkunku has not been able to go more than four league games in a row having played just 17 matches in PSG’s 49 games in all competitions this season.
Nkunku will be willing to join Premier League club Arsenal following the success of Matteo Guendouzi who has 31 starts this campaign.
