Having been linked with a move away from Saint-Etienne, club has placed a price tag of Yann M’Vila, according to reports from France.
Which means that West Ham will have to pay up to €10m (more than £8.5m) for M’Vila should they become keen attacker, according to French outlet L’Equipe.
The Premier League oufit were reported to have been linked with the midfielder since April. And are now making formal move in a bid to secure the signing of the midfielder and bring him to London Stadium.
With Saint-Etienne placing a €10 million asking price on the midfielder, the Hammers must come to a decision about the signing.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who is not new to how football is being played in England, has registered 40 appearances in the English top flight while on loan at Sunderland.
The Frenchman in his footballing career has enjoyed spells at Rennes, Rubin Kazan and Inter Milan before eventually opting to move back to France with Saint-Etienne during the winter transfer window and has been prolific for the club since joining up.
M’Vila has been pivotal in for his French team Saint-Etienne as he helped them climb up to the fourth position in the Ligue 1 and a possible Europa League spot for the 2019/20 campaign.
