With the summer window finally on its full wing, there will be much speculation over who Celtic will sign to come take up the centre forward post at Celtic.
We’ve seen the trio of Moussa Dembele, Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard taking up the centre-forward responsibilities over the past 12 months, but only Griffiths’ future at the club looks certain.
Dembele, on the other hand, has been heavily linked with a summer exit from Celtic this summer after his eye-catching form in his first treble winning season at Parkhead, but has been struggling to replicate same brilliant form in the season just gone.
Meanwhile, PSG loanee, Edouard, has yet to commit his long-term future with Celtic, having impressed during his temporary stay from PSG, although it does seem there will some agreement made by the end of the summer.
And with injuries playing another part in the players, Brendan Rodgers is likely to be considering the signing of another forward over the coming months, and it looks as though his hopes of making a record breaking swoop have been handed a huge boost.
Calcio Mercato has previously claimed that Celtic were willing to sanction a huge contract offer to Abel Hernandez as he prepares to leave Hull City on a free transfer, with the deal said to make him the highest paid player ever to play in Scotland.
Now, the Hull Daily Mail have been rounding up all the clubs who have been linked with the 27-year-old’s capture, and state that the forward would “jump at the chance” to move to a club like Newcastle United in the Premier League, with a desperation to be playing at a top level.
Of the names mentioned in the report, only one is playing at the highest possible level, and that is Celtic in the Champions League.
