Celtic fans will be looking for their club to strengthen over the summer after seeing what Old Firm rivals have been doing this summer.
Rangers, under the management of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard have been extremely active in the transfer window, whereas Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers have not with only the singing of Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal is the club’s only major transfer business of the summer.
Despite lack of activities in the window, Celtic could be set to lose one of their main defenders this summer, with reports gathering high momentum from Italy.
The report is according to Il Messaggero, that claimed Serie A giants Lazio are considering move for Celtic’s and Belgium Dedryck Boyata this summer, as they look to make strong changes to their ageing defence.
Boyata has proven to be a mainstay for Rodgers’ side over the years, with his recent superb performance being rewarded with a place in Roberto Martínez’s Belgium national team for this summer’s World Cup.
Boyata’s future at the Parkhead has been up in the air as he has rejected a new deal with the club, and with just one year left to run on his current deal with Celtic, he could well face exit door this summer.
