Chelsea Academy graduate breaks Frank Lampard record

Chelsea Academy has been producing lots of talents recently, with midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek becoming a super-sub having done something legend Frank Lampard would do in today’s match.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been in and out of the Chelsea’s first team this season, but was very prolific for the team today scoring the late winner for the Blues in a 2-1 victory against Cardiff City.

The England international’s late winner was a headed from close range in the 90th minute to help Sarri side take home all three points after Cesar Azpilicueta equaliser(seen to be offside) in the 81st minute.

The late goal from Loftus-Cheek made him the first player since Frank Lampard in 2014 to score a 90th minute winner for Chelsea in a Premier League match.

The victory does not just match a record but regnites the Blues top four hopes, having struggled throughout the season.

A good feat to achieve for a player who is still struggling to be a regular in the Blues team.
