Chelsea and Bayern set to lock horns over Man United’s £89m-rated star

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is reportedly a wanted man at Chelsea and Bayern Munich this summer and has rejected an improved contract for the Old Trafford club.

The French international has just a year left on his current contract with Man United, but Chelsea and Bayern has so far been lurking over chances of signing who the Red Devils values him at £89.3 million.

Chelsea’s do have the option to extend Martial’s contract by another year. However, Jose Mourinho is said to be open to selling the forward and signing a more better and experienced winger.

Martial joined Man United from Monaco in 2015 but has failed to become a regular at the club. The France international registered 30 Premier League appearances last season but 12 of these appearances were as a substitute.

As reported by RMC Sport via The Guardian, Martial’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, has said that he wants to leave after he failed to agree a new deal with the club.

Chelsea may need to strengthen should they lose Eden Hazard to Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are keen on the Belgium international, but the Blues have no interest in selling, per Kieran Gill for the Mail on Sunday.

If United were to allow Martial to leave it would make more sense to sell abroad than to a Premier League rival.

  1. Besides the fact that Martial isn’t fit to tie Hazards boots and will never happen, it also makes more sense for CFC to do business with Barca for Willian and include Dembele in any deal. Ousa Dembele is a far better player than Martial and would fit in like a glove with Sarriball as a system rather than the United man who struggles with consistency.
