AC Milan have been linked with a move to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, with top websites citing reports coming from Italy claiming that the Serie A team will submit a bid for him in January.
It’s a deal that the Blues should sanction for this January. The Spain international has now fallen so deep down in the pecking order that his playing time is going to be limited under Sarri this coming season. Fabregas is well past 30 now, and the former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder value is dropping with every minute he spends off the field.
Chelsea have some great years with Fabregas, but his time has come, with his legs also gone and it looks unlikely he’ll be able to keep up with demands of Maurizio Sarri’s high tempo play.
However, Fabregas, who is rated at €30m, could still be useful as an emergency backup for Jorginho, should the Brazilian pick up an injury, but if Milan are offering any kind of money for Cesc, we should be biting their hands off.
Chelsea needs to be saving up for the purchase of a top striker, and this is a great start.
