Despite reports about Maurizio Sarri’s desire to sit Hazard down for talks, the battle to sign the Belgiun international is hotting up. Real Madrid are believed to be the most keen side to sign the left-winger this summer but reports from the Daily Mirror says La Liga rivals Barcelona could end up winning race to his signature.
The report from the British newspaper read:
“Barcelona are reportedly prepared to offer Ousmane Dembele in part-exchange for Eden Hazard”.
Dembele, however, would be a good option for Chelsea but not good enough to serve as Hazard’s replacement. The France World Cup winner has struggled to register a starting role at Nou Camp since he joined the Catalan giants from Borussia Dortmund last summer and with report linking him exits coupled with first-team chances at under Sarri, he could be tempted to leave.
Elsewhere, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Michy Batshuayi could be set for a season long-loan this summer. Everton are reportedly weighing up move for Loftus-Cheek or Batshuayi this summer.
But they would be waiting until they return from holiday to know for sure whether they in Sarri’s plans for the upcoming season before making a move.
As per, Premier League rules, Everton can only have one loan star from Chelsea, and Loftus-Cheek, who spent last season at Crystal Palace appears to be their primary target.
And lastly, Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has been confirmed as Sarri’s deputy at Stamford Bridge, and has described his return to the club as “an amazing thing”.
The Blues legend told the official club website:
“It is going to be a difficult challenge, but I am pleased to be here, and to work hard with Maurizio to be successful.”
