Chelsea starlet Reece James has officially signed for Jay-Z’s Sports management company Roc Nations Sports, becoming one of very few players to do so in the Premier League, on Tuesday.
The American management company didn’t just stop at completing a signature for the Chelsea starlet, as they also signed up his sister, Lauren, who plays as a forward for Manchester United, and his father Nigel, who runs a coaching academy.
With the whole family now signed to Roc Nations, the company will be managing the family’s activities both on and off the pitch, which includes brand strategy, media relations and endorsements.
James family have now joined several elites footballers like Romelu Lukaku, Kevin de Bruyne, Axel Witsel, Jerome Boateng and Eric Bailly after signing for the Roc Nations Sports International.
The England defender is the latest Chelsea youngster to have gained in on the first team under the reign of Frank Lampard, who have faith in the club’s academy.
James may have forced his way into Lampard’s team this season after netting in Chelsea’s 4-4 draw against Dutch giants Ajax in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Speaking about the new signing, the full-back said via Daily Mail: ‘Joining the Roc Nation family alongside my own family is a very special feeling. Family means everything to me, and I could tell from day one just how highly Roc Nation values it.
‘I look forward to a great partnership with Roc Nation who will manage my off-the-pitch activities as only they can.
