Chelsea’s past record in the Premier League was woeful, but there’s reason to believe the Blues will come back to their winning ways with a strong enough performance in the transfer market.
There have been speculations in recent days stating that the Blues are eyeing move for Maurizio Sarri as Antonio Conte replacement this summer, in what seems the right move for Chelsea.
The Daily Express have linked many targets Chelsea could move for under Sarri, among which are Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski might face the exit door at Allianz Arena this summer and his link with Chelsea won’t die until end up joining the Blues, with previous report that he could be available for around £80million, according to the Daily Mirror.
In another news, Chelsea are believed to be eyeing move for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio from Real Madrid. The signing of Asensio would serve as a long-term replacement for Willian and Pedro who have both been tipped with exit after the World Cup and Asensio joining Lewandowski at Chelsea would create a stunning new look front three consisting of Eden Hazard and Asensio.
Although, the signing of the Spaniard won’t come any cheap, with Spanish news outlet Don Balon stating the Los Blancos values the attacker as much as £132m.
Having already agreed a £30m deal for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to Sport Italia, the midfield is another area that needs strengthening. Ever since Nemaja Matic had been sold to Manchester United, the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley were signed as replacement but the trio have been flops in all outings so far.
In such a scenario, Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport claim Chelsea are after Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic who will be available for a move if a bid of £70m is submitted, and he seems the perfect creative midfielder Chelsea needs to play alongside N’Golo Kante in the midfield.
With all this being said, the question is, should they all join the club this summer, ‘how will they be all line up to chanllenge likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool for the title race next season.
Here’s a look at how the Blues could line up if they sign Asensio, Lewandowski, Rugani and Pjanic this summer.
