An official report from the BBC has revealed Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is set to sign a new four-year deal with the club.
It’s believed Arsenal new head-coach Unai Emery wants him to be part of his plans for the club and has urge the club to offer Chambers a new four-year contract to fight for a starting position at centre-back.
The 23-year-old only signed a two-year deal with Arsenal last year, but the former Paris Saint-Germain manager believes Chambers has huge potential.
Chambers, who joined Arsenal in the summer of 2014 from Premier League club Southampton has made a total 83 appearances for Arsenal scoring three goals.
The England international, who has been dubbed as the Gunners new “Sergio Ramos” has also registered three appearances for England in all outings.
With Arsenal offering Chambers a new four-year deal, it doesn’t look as if the club would pursue the signing of Borussia Dortmund Sokratis Pappastathopoulos this summer.
