Chelsea are considering a surprise move for Arsenal and their former goalkeeper Petr Cech as a replacement to Thibaut Courtois, who has been tipped to join Real Madrid this summer. It’s believed the Champions League holders are closing in on a move for the Belgian goalkeeper.

The Belgium stopper, who earned the FIFA Golden Glove for his performances between the sticks for his country, has less than one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and has not committed his long-term future with the club. But following the arrival of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, Cech’s first-team chances at Arsenal is now under threat. In report from Daily Mail bears fruit, the Gunners are said to be working selling the former Chelsea man in order to provide funds for for Unai Emery to improve his squad.

Chelsea now have the chance of signing the £100,000 a week man at their disposal, who was an integral part of the Blues team that won four Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Europa League. Chelsea are also said to be interested in signing Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel this summer.
