Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk will be named as the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, according to several reports in the media.
Official announcement is yet to be made but will be announced on Thursday, with the Holland international highly expected to beat City’s Raheem Sterling to the award.
The Dutch defender, who is one of the six players nominated for the award, has scared off competitions from Sergio Aguero, Eden Hazard, Sterling and others.
Van Dijk as been highly tagged to be one of the best defender in the world making the frontpage various times this season.
The Dutch star outstanding performance this season has been pivotal for the Jurgen Klopp’s side in the race to win the Champions League and Premier League.
Manchester City star Bernando Silva and Van Dijk teammate Sadik Mane was also nominated for the award.
