According to report coming from UOL, Premier League giant Arsenal are very close to signing up Brazilian youngster Gabriel Martinelli.
The Brazilian forward currently ply his trade with Ituano in the Sao Paulo state championship with report stating that the youngster travelled to Europe to acquire his Italian passport.
The North London club has sent off suitors from Brazil like Flamengo and Cruzeiro who were looking to sign the forward. A deal has been stated to be agreed and it is expected to go through when the teenager turns 18 in June.
Martinelli has formerly been linked with the London club since the beginning of the year, and from the looks of it a deal should’ve been agreed upon.
His collection of the European passport would allow the youngster to move to Emirates Stadium without the need for any work permit.
Brazilian football expert Tim Stillman, who says: “He was one of the best players, so Ituano put him in the first team for the state championships (which run from late January to late April) and he did really well. 6 goals and 3 assists mainly playing against much better teams. He’s a wide forward.”
