Real Madrid could reportedly make a late summer move for Denmark international star Christian Eriksen this summer, according to The Sun.
The 13th-time Champions League winner, who kicked start their 2018/19 season against Getafe next Sunday in the Spanish top-flight, have been linked with a move for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder before the end of this current month.
Eriksen, who has 82 international appearance for Denmark, played the full 90 minutes on his first appearances for Tottenham this season after he helped Spurs defeat Newcastle United 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The midfielder scored for his country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia this summer, as Denmark reached the last 16 of the tournament, suffering defeat against eventual runners-up Croatia, is a reported target for Real Madrid, should they lose Luka Modric to Inter Milan this summer.
Although, it’s believed that Eriksen is in talks with Tottenham over a new deal this summer, but agreement on this has yet to be reached leaving the door open for Real Madrid to make their move for the midfielder this summer, with the Spanish transfer window remaining open until August 31.
The midfielder netted 56 goals in 227 appearances for Spurs in all outings following his reported £11m move from Ajax back in August 2013. Eriksen, on his current deal however, is tied with Spurs until June 2020, and is valued at £72m.
