According to reports, Chelsea are prepared to return with an improved mouth-watering offer to sign Ivory Coast international and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha before the deadline day.
The Blues have seen their initial £30 million fee plus Danny Drinkwater rejected by the Eagles for the signing of the Ivorian this summer of which the Eagles are believed to sell him for at least double that price.
Chelsea see the former Manchester United forward as a replacement for Willian whose career has been a subject of strong speculations. Willian reported late to the Blues’ preseason training and Community Shield match preparations against Manchester City by claiming he had passport issues, but this are in midst of bids from Real Madrid and Barcelona for his signature.
Although, the Brazilian has stated he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge this summer, it appears the FA Cup holders want to prepare for the worst which explains their interest in Zaha.
The winger could also act as a direct replacement to Eden Hazard who looks very likely to leave Chelsea to Real Madrid as Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement this summer.
Chelsea, however, will face keen competition from Tottenham Hotspur who are also interested in signing Zaha this summer are preparing a a £45 million offer plus £15 million in add-ons, and a major selling on profit share. Zaha has no problems remaining in London and has told Crystal Palace that he wants to leave.
