Deal talks Ongoing: £50m-rated PSG Target prefers move to Arsenal, SNUBS Tottenham
With the hopes strengthening up his weak team ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, Unai Emery has been all over Europe scouting for a potential player to add to his team.
The Gunners are now being linked with a move for Watford’s star Abdoulaye Doucoure, who has put up an impressive performance all season. The 26-year-old has put Arsenal up front in the race to sign him as he recently stated he will prefer a move to Arsenal rather than Tottenham because of Arsene Wenger.
The North London club have met with the player’s agent but it is yet to be revealed if a deal has been agreed or rejected.
The player’s form this 2018/19 campaign for Watford has seen him being linked with a move to Chelsea, Arsenal and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, with the trio all set to table a £50 million offer.
The French midfielder, who is contracted with the Hornets till 2023, might not be leaving the English club this summer but a tempting offer could see him part ways.
Speaking to the media recently, he said: “The main thing is I want to stay in the Premier League. I think this is the best league for me for my qualities so this is my main target to stay here.”
In an interview last year, he confirmed the Premier League trios(Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool) interested in him, he said: “It’s true that these clubs are interested.
“But I’m at Watford for the moment and I want to finish my season well.”
Arsenal are in the market looking for a potential replacement for departing Aaron Ramsey ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
