According to reports, Nigerian and Arsenal winger, Alex Iwobi, is on the verge of signing of a new long-term contract with the Gunners.
Iwobi, as per reports from British tabloids, the Daily Mirror, has agreed terms on an improved contract following talks with the club which have been ongoing since the end of last season. Although, his pending deal runs until 2020.
However, Iwobi is set to add new more improved terms on the contract at Arsenal and it’s believed this will run until 2022 when he signs a new agreement.
His new deal with the club will serve as a huge blow to likes of Lazio, AC Milan and Everton who have been lurking around over the possibility of signing the Nigerian international this summer.
Having left contract renewals until too late in the past, Arsenal have been on a drive this year to tie down some of their players.
Mesut Ozil, Mohamed Elneny, Granit Xhaka, Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Ainsley Maitland-Niles have all penned fresh deals in 2018 and academy product Iwobi will be next.
Italian online news outlet, II Messaggero had earlier reported that the Gunners have placed a price tag of £22.3m on the winger who impressed for Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia this summer.
