According to report from Yahoo in Brazil, Gabriel Martinelli will be joining up Arsenal’s U23 squad, claimig that the player will be provided a date he will be joining up the Big team.
The youngster being on his breakout season has scored 12 goals and further created 3 assists in 18 games and has been crowned “best hope” of the Paulista Regional Championship with several reports claiming he will be putting on an Arsenal shirt next season.
Brazilian outlet UOL, who first broke the news to the media, have stated that the Gunners have reached an agreement to sign the 17-year-old forward for a fee yet to be disclosed this summer.
Martinelli was said to have sparked interest from Brazilian outfits like Cruzeiro, Santos, Flamengo and others, but opted for a move to the Premier League instead.
Arsenal will be expected to officially announce the signing of the youngster in the June when the youngster turn 18, with the player currently trying to get his Italian passport to help his transfer to the club.
Gabriel Martinelli could have chose to sign for Manchester United right after visiting the club and meeting up with Paul Pogba but from the looks of it Arsenal have won the battle for his signature as he is set to be the first summer signing for Unai Emery.
